The firmware reports its own key and column count. The app draws the grid to match, up to 64 keys.
The deck holds a 32 byte key and answers a fresh challenge every time it connects. Nothing runs until the HMAC checks out, and the key is only handed over after you physically press a key on the deck. Secure boot, flash encryption and signed over-the-air updates are all in the firmware.
Click a key in the app, pick an action, set the shortcut. Press Test to try it without touching the hardware. Arrow keys move between keys, copy and paste move a whole binding, and undo works the way you expect.
